An energetic and committed anesthesiologist with more than four years of professional experience, this specialist has expertise in administering anesthesia across a wide range of surgical disciplines, including general surgery, orthopedics, urosurgery, neurosurgery, faciomaxillary surgery, and ENT procedures. In addition to clinical expertise, they have served in leadership roles such as Operation Theater Incharge and have been actively engaged in academic responsibilities, teaching both undergraduate medical students and anesthesiology residents. With a strong determination to advance pain medicine in Nepal, they recently completed a one-year fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, South Korea, and aspire to establish a dedicated pain center and training programs in interventional pain management in Nepal. The doctor holds an MD in Anesthesiology from Nepalgunj Medical College, an MBBS from Nepal Medical College, and an ISc from Vishwa Niketan Science Campus, building on a strong academic foundation since their early education. Professionally, they have served as a Lecturer in the Department of Anesthesiology at Nepalgunj Medical College, where they were involved in clinical practice, teaching, and resident training from 2015 to 2019. They also worked as Registrar Anesthesiologist at Paropakar Maternal and Women’s Hospital, focusing on obstetric anesthesia and labor analgesia for high-risk patients, before taking on current roles as Consultant Anesthesiologist at Star Hospital and Consultant Pain Physician at Nepal Cancer Hospital since 2020. Their scholarly contributions include multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, covering topics such as the effectiveness of caudal epidural steroids combined with oral gabapentin for radicular low back pain, the use of transversus abdominis plane blocks after cesarean sections, and the role of recombinant zoster vaccine in preventing herpes zoster and postherpetic neuralgia. They have also presented papers at national conferences and contributed to CME programs organized by the Society of Anaesthesiologists of Nepal and the Nepal Medical Association. Combining clinical practice, academic involvement, and research, this anesthesiologist is steadily emerging as a specialist committed to advancing pain management and anesthesiology in Nepal.
