Dr. Basnet is a highly accomplished anesthesiologist who earned his MBBS degree in 2007 and MD in Anesthesiology in 2011 from the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University. He further specialized through the WFSA Thoracic Anesthesia Fellowship at Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi. For the past seven years, he has been actively engaged in anesthetic and ICU management of cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesia at the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center (MCVTC). In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Basnet plays a key role in academic medicine, being actively involved in the MD Anesthesiology program at TU Teaching Hospital and training residents from both Tribhuvan and Kathmandu Universities posted at MCVTC. He has also been instrumental in establishing and managing anesthesia and intensive care services at Nepal Cancer Hospital. His professional journey includes serving as a Consultant Anesthesiologist at Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital (2012–2014) and Grande International Hospital (1.5 years), as well as working as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Medicine, Maharajgunj Medical Campus since 2011. Dr. Basnet has contributed significantly to medical literature with numerous articles published in indexed journals. He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Anaesthesiologists of Nepal (SAN) and the Nepalese Society of Critical Care Medicine (NSCCM), and serves as the Editor of the Journal of Society of Anaesthesiologists of Nepal.
