Dr. Manish Kolakshyapati is a highly accomplished Consultant Neurosurgeon, specializing in the early detection and differentiation of brain tumors for timely management and better prognosis. He completed his MBBS (2004–2010) at Universal College of Medical Sciences – Teaching Hospital (UCMS-TH), Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and pursued his post-graduate training in Neurosurgery (2013–2018) at the Department of Neurosurgery, Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, Hiroshima University, Japan. During his training, he received several prestigious honors, including the B.P. Suwarna Memorial Gold Medal (2014) and the highly competitive Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Japanese Government Scholarship (2013–2018), which exemplified his excellence as both a clinician and researcher. Dr. Kolakshyapati’s clinical focus lies in minimally invasive approaches and advanced neuroimaging for brain tumor diagnosis and management. His post-graduate thesis explored early tumor detection with minimal invasion, reinforcing his commitment to advancing neurosurgical oncology. He has been providing neurosurgical services in Nepal since 2019 and has been an integral part of the Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center (NCHRC) since September 2019. Believing in a holistic treatment model, he emphasizes compassionate patient communication, ensuring patients are well-informed and empowered in their treatment decisions. Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr. Kolakshyapati is deeply involved in academic and editorial work. He serves as the Section Editor of the Nepalese Journal of Neurosurgeons (NJNS), Executive Editor of the Grande Medical Journal (GMJ), and an active peer reviewer for international journals including World Neurosurgery, SN Comprehensive Clinical Medicine, World Journal of Surgical Oncology, and Interdisciplinary Neurosurgery. He has an impressive body of scholarly work, with numerous publications in high-impact, indexed international journals. His research spans from advanced neuroimaging for pediatric and adult brain tumors, glioblastoma, and germinomas to rare case reports on complex neurosurgical conditions. His works are widely published in leading journals such as the European Journal of Radiology, World Neurosurgery, Cancer Medicine, Child’s Nervous System, and Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, among many others. Dr. Kolakshyapati is also actively engaged in the neurosurgical community. He holds professional memberships with the Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons (NESON) and the Nepal Medical Council (NMC No. 9292). In addition, he holds a Japanese Government Advanced Clinical Training Permit (No. 1593), reflecting his international clinical exposure and recognition. Through his extensive training, academic contributions, and compassionate approach to patient care, Dr. Kolakshyapati has established himself as one of Nepal’s leading neurosurgeons, dedicated to advancing the field of neurosurgical oncology both nationally and internationally.
